Pakistan Floods Emergency Appeal 2022

The floods in Pakistan are being described as Catastrophic, and Biblical in Nature, according to a CBC interview.

33 Million people have been affected with over 1 Million homes destroyed or damaged by floods in Sindh, Balochistan and some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan. One third of the country is under water with 800,000 livestock lost, a critical source of sustenance for families; livelihoods have been significantly affected. As Pakistan has been hit by excessive rainfalls, with the monsoon starting a month earlier with 3 times higher rainfall than the 30-year average.

GAAP is appealing on humanitarian basis extend your generous support to helpless and vulnerable people that have lost their homes, livestock, and livelihoods. Many are trapped in the floods and need your help. By donating to the appeal, together we can give shelter, food and water – all essential to survival. Over 2000 people have died, 3,500 seriously injured and the numbers will continue to grow as more heavy rain is to come.

Where in Pakistan? 

  • The most affected provinces are Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • Hygiene kits 
  • GAAP field teams are engaged in providing support to vulnerable communities in District Jaffarabad (Balochistan) and distributed food packages and NFIs among 3500 households.
  • GAAP teams and volunteers are also engaged in social mobilization and household survey (livestock and agriculture damages assessment) with the support of District Administration of District Jaffarabad, Balochistan.
